The prerequisite for showing up as your best self consistently
If I have learnt anything from my personal experiences and those of the 100+ high-achieving humans who I have had the honour to coach, it’s that having high aspirations is not sufficient to achieve great things.
In order to achieve our aspirations, in a way that’s actually fulfilling, we need to learn to run ourselves – to learn how to show up as our best selves consistently.
This requires a deep sense of self-awareness. And self-awareness requires a regular reflection practice – stopping and taking the time to look back so we can learn, iterate and improve.
A quote to keep in mind
“There is so much to do. There is so little time. We must go slowly.”
– Taoist saying
How to develop a regular reflection practice
It need not be complicated – you only need to ask yourself these 3 questions to kickstart your reflection:
💡What went well?
💡What didn’t go so well?
💡What am I going to continue / start / stop doing going forward?
Do you manage to reflect on a regular basis? Please share your thoughts and challenges with me – I’d love to support you in developing this practice.
